Membership development is critical to the future of our Blue Lodges and by extension, our Valley. Seven years ago, Grand Lodge offered us the "Pass It On"; created as a comprehensive program for our lodges to develop and grow our membership development. Soon, a new and improved "Pass It On" will be released; and again, I mention that, by using this program, your lodge will be able to bring into your lodges new and fresh members.

The goal of this program has remained the same: to raise five new Master Masons. And again, I ask you to think of what five new Masons each year would do for your lodge, and as a result what those new members could also mean to the Santa Ana Valley. They would provide a range of personal resources that would strengthen the Lodge and our Valley, they would provide a succession of new officers, they would provide the continuance of financial support to continue the Lodges and Valley operations, and they would replace members the Black Camel takes each year from us all.

The best way your lodge can be successful in attracting and retaining members is to offer programs that have a wide appeal. The programs must include personal growth activities, family activities, and community service programs. Each of these programs must show, to the community as a whole, who we are and what our values are.

Every successful organization has a plan, and the "Pass It On" program is ready made for your use. Encourage your lodge to work the "Pass It On" plan and you will see the benefits of new members in your Lodge. Above all, have fun and enjoy the benefits of new blood in your midst.
