| Knights of St. Andrew - February |
Tables covered in silver, black and silver balloons, delicious selection of international cuisine, music, dance, champagne toast and family environment. This is how the Knights of St. Andrew and their guests welcomed the New Year at the El Bekal Shrine Center. It was as great as having a big family assembled under one roof. This was the first time we had this kind of a social event where everyone enjoyed each other, leaving their tables to chit chat and get to know one another. One guest said: "It is been a long time since my wife and I went anywhere due to her being dependent to the wheelchair and we even danced". Another stated: "We had a great time last night, and I believe that my wife will be getting together with a group of quality ladies". These are statements that we love to hear in all our events no matter how many guests attend. After all, our wish and hope is to bring families together and bring fun into their lives. Events like this are not possible without the support and the involvement of everyone. I would like to thank all who participated in making the New Year's Eve a wonderful one. My special thanks go to the Shriners, particularly to Ill. Sir Coy Love, Bros. John Rider, Ron Bass and Dave Lindsay for helping us overcome every obstacle that came our way. I also thank Sir Knight Scott Davis and his wife Ellen and a big thanks to my wife Marie - Rose for preparing the delicious holiday feast, even though she was reminding me that I owe her BIG, every time I stepped in the kitchen. Spending the holiday with our Masonic families makes that day even more special. St Valentine's Day is right around the corner, and if an adventurous brother would like to take the initiative of putting an event together, he can count on my support. Sincerely and Fraternally Eric Hanan, 32° KoSA |
